Ascensus College Savings’ Chief Product Officer Scott Morrison recently contributed an original article to Industry Era in which he discusses new technologies that financial services’ firms are leveraging in developing client solutions. He discusses data sharing through Application Program Interfaces (APIs) which has enabled savers to leverage aggregation platforms like Mint to get a holistic view of their financial wellness. Scott also highlights that financial services firms are building their websites, apps, and other acount services in a mobile-friendly manner so that financial advisors and their clients can access their financial information on their smart phones. “The high level of convenience that comes with these capabilities results in a happier end user,” he concludes.

New websites highlight retirement, college, and health savings account services
DRESHER, Pa. — Ascensus, the nation’s largest independent retirement plan and college savings services provider, is proud to announce that the company’s continued growth will lead to the launch of new technological advancements in 2017—including a new, redesigned www.ascensus.com.
“As we head into 2017 and continue to grow our organization, it’s imperative that we maintain our focus on the value that we provide to our clients in helping them save for retirement, college, and health care,” states Bob Guillocheau, CEO and president of Ascensus. “We listened hard to what our clients were asking of us with our upcoming digital initiatives—the new solutions are truly being built with our clients in mind.”
The new corporate website highlights the company’s retirement, college, and health savings account services while helping partners and clients connect with Ascensus’ team of experts to assist with all of their needs.
Key features include a new web-based newsroom where site visitors can find the latest in Ascensus company news, thought leadership, and savings industry regulatory updates; an optimized user experience, allowing site visitors to self-identify and then see all products, services, and savings plan information available to them; and a login portal for current clients.
“We wanted to provide concise, easy-to-understand information to help our website visitors make sound decisions,” notes Roberta Hess, vice president of marketing and communications. “Our approach is simple by design, helping Americans confidently save for their futures.”
Ascensus will also roll out redesigned retirement plan and participant websites at the close of the first quarter.
“The new Ascensus.com is just the first in a series of enhancements that we’re excited to provide to both current and prospective clients,” says Guillocheau. “All of us at Ascensus are looking forward to what we plan to accomplish in 2017 as our company continues to grow.”
In a recent article published by Initiative Foundation, Ascensus was named the “granddaddy” to the growing tech sector in the Brainerd Lakes area. EVP Steve Christenson notes that Ascensus and other tech companies in Brainerd have recently banded together to help market the region’s tech opportunities.
Director Megan Morgan was recently featured in the Brainerd-based Her Voice Magazine in an article titled “Women in Tech.” The feature, included in the Spring 2016 issue, spotlights “three savvy business women making their mark in the tech sector” in the Brainerd lakes community. “I love the fact that there is no ‘typical day’ at my job,” states Megan. “I love the variety of what I do which can entail working on everything from building software applications to working with the companies that partner with Ascensus.”
