December 12, 2005 – Sources indicate that H.R. 2830, the Pension Protection Act of 2005, could be voted on by the full House of Representatives this week. Previous reports have generally indicated that the vote was more likely to occur after Congress reconvenes in January 2006 for the second session of the 109th Congress.
However, even if passed by the House in the coming days, conferencing of this bill with the comparable Senate bill (S. 1783) to eliminate differences would be difficult before the 2005 session adjournment. That target date is December 20.
