IRS Grants Relief for Kentucky Tornado Victims

December 9, 2005 – The IRS issued news release IND-2006-07 describing relief from deadlines for certain taxpayers affected by November 15, 2005, tornadoes that struck Hopkins and Marshall counties in Kentucky. The relief pertains to the filing of tax returns, payment of taxes, and the completion of certain time-sensitive tax-related acts, including many associated with savings arrangements (and previously identified for hurricane victims). Under this relief, those acts due to be completed from November 15, 2005, through February 1, 2006, are extended to February 1, 2006.
